Throughout the procedure, patients are closely monitored and sedation levels can be adjusted or reversed at any point as needed. Most patients have little to no memory of the procedure afterward. While the effects wear off relatively quickly after the IV is stopped, patients must arrange for a responsible adult to drive them home following their appointment.

Oral Conscious Sedation

For patients with mild to moderate dental anxiety, oral conscious sedation is an effective and comfortable option. A prescribed sedative pill is taken before arriving at our office, producing a calm and relaxed state while allowing patients to remain conscious and able to communicate freely with our team throughout the procedure.

In most cases the effects of oral conscious sedation last longer than the treatment itself, so patients are advised to arrange for someone to drive them to and from their appointment.
